The CICA provides compensation to people who have been injured as a result of crime, and in doing so recognizes the compassion in society for the innocent victims of violent crime. 

Depending upon your injuries, the scheme may pay compensation of anywhere between £1,000 and £500,000. 

It is not a requirement that the offender is convicted of the said crime, or that the offender is identified or caught.
